Marcus Smart Can Be The New Rondo

The Boston Celtics are in a rebuilding phase and that's why they're stacking so much quality draft picks for the upcoming couple of years. They still managed to get couple of quality players like Marcus Smart from this year's draft. For more information regarding betting on the NBA visit www.bestbetonsports.com

The Celtics didn't manage to gate players like Winnings, Parker or Embid; but they still managed to grab one of the best physical specimens in the class. Smart is a 6'4'' 220 pounds point guard with a 6'8'' wingspan that can play both the PG and SG position.

After the Rajon Rondo injury before the start of the season that will keep him out of the courts for a month at the start of the season, Marcus Smart is becoming an eligible candidate for the Rookie of the month award in November.

He will probably get most of Rondo's minutes on the PG position alongside with Bradley and will be a good replacement on the SG position for both Thornton and Evans. It's a good thing for a kid that expected to play only couple of minutes per game behind Rondo at the start of the season.

This could be only the beginning for Smart. He is physically better than Bradley and above all he has a better shot. Thornton will not be motivated to play as he looks to sit back and enjoy the ride while he receives money from the last year of his contract. Evan Turner signed for one year, so he could be hungry for points and good games, but we're sure that Smart has enough man power to overcome this competition.

Bellow you can see what can Marcus Smart do on the basketball court and it is pretty impressive. PG that can play post-up, that's a rarity.
